Our full product development offering provides a comprehensive solution for clients in the electronics industry. From initial concept design through every development phase, product launch, and mass manufacturing, we manage each step of the design and development process to ensure that the final product meets the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetics.
Product Concept and Ideation
Once the client defines the target market and required functionality, we work closely with the client to develop a product that optimally addresses users’ needs, taking into consideration:
- The practical feasibility of the product’s physical operation.
- The environment in which the product will operate and its user interfaces.
Our design experts work closely with the client to develop innovative solutions that meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.
Prototype Phase
The initial phase of product development focuses on designing and developing a product prototype. Prototyping gives our clients an in-depth view of the product and establishes a proof of concept. At GML, we offer both demo units (nonfunctional prototypes) and functional prototypes. Our skilled prototype engineers build preliminary product models as either rapid prototypes for quick product analysis or conventional prototypes, according to the client’s needs.
Product Design
Following the prototype phase, we apply our electronics manufacturing expertise to refine the prototype - including its design, functionality, materials, components, and cost-effectiveness - until the product is market-ready.
We apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles in the product design phase right from the start to ensure each product is optimized for efficient production. By integrating manufacturing considerations into the design process, we reduce potential manufacturing issues, minimize costs, and enhance the overall functionality and reliability of the final product.
Qualification
To minimize the risks associated with noncompliance, assure product quality, and reduce costs while ensuring that products and parts meet client and regulatory requirements, GML incorporates testing and qualification procedures into the manufacturing process. These include First Article Inspection (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and other product tests that replicate the electromagnetic, climatic, and mechanical conditions the product will encounter throughout its operating life.
